4th Year Neurology Resident Fired for Uber Rampage

On Friday, Jackson Health System officially announced that they are proceeding with the termination of 4th year neurology resident Dr. Anjali Ramkissoon.  Ramkissoon gained notoriety after her drunken Uber rampage went viral on YouTube in January.  This is a reminder to all of us who wears the white coat: whether you think it is fair or not, we are expected to behave professionally in and out of the clinical setting.  The exact economic impact of Ramkisson's actions is difficult to calculate.  However, according to this 2016 Medscape report, the average salary of a neurologist sits at $241,000.  Assuming 30 years in practice, even if there is no income increase whatsoever, the lost lifetime income for Dr. Ramkissoon's one bad night stands at $7.23 million.  Original video below.
