Warren Buffet vs. Hedgefunds

NPR Planet Money is one of my all time favorite NPR programs.  In Episode 688: Brilliant vs. Boring, they featured the $1 million bet between Warren Buffet and Protege Partners, LLC.  The basic bet was this:

“Over a ten-year period commencing on January 1, 2008, and ending on December 31, 2017, the S&P 500 will outperform a portfolio of funds of hedge funds, when performance is measured on a basis net of fees, costs and expenses.”

It's the ultimate battle between investing approaches - the mundane vs. the exciting, the average vs. the elite, and as Planet Money so aptly put it - Brilliant vs. Boring. For additional details on the bet, click HERE.  Take a listen below.
